The WindFree Pure 1.0 is the new Samsung air conditioner with WindFree technology that allows you to avoid annoying direct air jets thanks to the presence of 21000 micro-holes on the front panel: it distributes the air gently, silently and uniformly in the spaces, eliminating annoying air jets direct and creating a still air environment, to ensure total well-being in relaxation or work environments. The Windfree Pure 1.0 air conditioner features new technologies to monitor and improve air quality in the home environment, such as the PM1.0 filter for air purification, capable of filtering dust particles down to 0.3 μm/micron and to sterilize microorganisms using an electrostatic charger, thus ensuring cleaner and healthier air in the home.
PM1.0 filter and Freeze Wash function
The PM1.0 filter is not only able to capture ultra-fine particles down to 0.3 μm, but also to eliminate certain types of bacteria , which are captured by means of an electrostatic precipitator. This filter consists of two main parts that charge and collect dust and bacteria. The antistatic brush generates negative ions which give dust particles and microorganisms a negative charge which causes them to stick firmly to the ground electrode, thanks to the electrostatic force of the collector. The PM1.0 filter is also semi-washable and offers the advantage of providing fresh and cleaner air, saving on additional maintenance costs for filter replacement.
In addition, the Freeze Wash function cleans the unit and removes up to 90% of bacteria. Thanks to this function, the heat exchanger of the indoor unit is cooled down to -15°C, becoming covered with frost. By selecting the defrost mode, the ice, by melting, eliminates the bacteria present inside the exchanger. When the heat exchanger needs to be cleaned using the Freeze Wash function, the SmartThings app sends a notification directly to your smartphone.
Air quality
The WindFree Pure 1.0 air conditioner is equipped with a new advanced display that allows you to easily monitor the quality of the air inside the environment. The laser sensor on the display measures the concentrations of PM10, PM2.5 and PM1.0 present in the air. The air quality is indicated on the display and expressed using four different levels/colors ranging from "excellent" (blue) and "good" (green) to "poor" (yellow) and "very bad" (red).
The air quality can also be monitored continuously via the SmartThings app. Even when the unit is off, the laser sensor is in fact able to record the quality of the air inside the room at any time. When air pollution reaches 'high' or 'very high', a notification is sent directly to your smartphone. Thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi , the user can then act via the SmartThings app, activating the purification mode remotely. In addition to monitoring air quality and activating or deactivating purifying mode, the SmartThings app and Samsung's Bixby voice control allow users to turn the air conditioner on or off, select preferred usage modes, schedule and monitor energy consumption.
