The revolutionary Meta Small from Calpeda 's e-idos line is a variable speed self-priming pressurization system , more precisely it is a multi-impeller self-priming pump with a frequency converter directly integrated into the pump itself. We are talking about a plug and play solution (just insert the plug into the electrical socket and operate the product via a start button), equipped with a non-return valve on the intake side, a pressure sensor connected to the delivery pipe and a membrane integrated inside the pump body. The Calpeda Meta Small self-priming pump is the even more compact solution of the Meta version , the objective was to confirm the Meta results even at lower flow rates, where pumps notoriously work with less efficiency, and the result was to have introduced onto the market a small, powerful and specific electric pump for pressurization needs in domestic applications.
ELECTRIC PUMP WITH INVERTER, TECHNOLOGICAL AND EFFICIENT
Meta Small by Calpeda is a very particular product starting from its ultra-compact dimensions. It is able to guarantee constant pressure at variable speed in different applications, equipped with an integrated inverter which already has a high-performance pressure sensor inside. The smaller size did not affect the performance, Meta Small is 6 cm shorter than Meta and with a total volume of less than 15 liters it truly presents itself as the smallest pump on the market but highly specific and performing. This result is further supported by the removal of the fan which brought a double advantage: first of all freedom in managing the spaces during the installation phase and then a decidedly superior silence comparable to that of the quietest apartment applications. In the case of Meta Small, the small dimensions therefore translate into technological advantages, in fact in the working points at low flow rates, as required in small systems, the pump guarantees performance and efficiency superior to the Meta itself, with the result of a product in which hydraulics , engine and electronics are considered in unison.
This self-priming pump is equipped with an IE4 motor according to the EN60034-3-2 standard (Ed. 2020), we are talking about a very high efficiency motor specifically designed for inverter operation; motor and inverter together (PDS) , allow Meta to largely fall into the IES 2 category , which is the maximum category foreseen according to the IEC 61800-9-2 standard. It is also important to highlight that the electronic control is equipped with PFC and this makes Meta usable in any environment and mode (residential, professional and industrial).
The electronics automatically control start-up and shutdown and allow the pressure to be maintained constant. In fact, there is a backlit LCD display for viewing information, parameters and for programming the product. The on-board electronic intelligence allows you to control pressure, temperature, absorption, amperage and priming phase (the first priming phase which often represents a problem in traditional pumps).
It has several easily noticeable advantages , some of which are: engine power control; choice of restart pressure; voltage and current control and control of the maximum inrush current value. The pump is equipped with monitoring systems: against dry running, motor overload and overtemperature, sudden blockage and presence of air in the pump or filling cycle. Some measures are then fundamental for correct use, for example the temperature of the liquid from 0 °C up to + 35 °C, the ambient temperature up to 40 °C and a pressure allowed in the pump body of a maximum of 8 bar.
Calpeda Meta Small is truly a revolution in the world of electric pumps aimed at water supply, for domestic use, gardening and irrigation, combining three fundamental needs: efficiency, savings and eco-sustainability. The efficiency of the pump was partly addressed by highlighting the performance profile and the high quality components to guarantee unrivaled comfort in water supply, but not only that, this product has an energy efficiency index of EEI 0.42 at constant pressure and allows in its general operation to save up to 70% of the energy consumed by a corresponding traditional pump; therefore energy saving and consequent environmental protection also from the point of view of the materials used for construction which correspond to half of those needed in traditional pumps, giving this fact a strong ecological and environmentalist footprint.
This pump can also be mounted in parallel and therefore create a two-pump pressurization unit.
In case of wear, Meta Small Calpeda can be disassembled and reassembled with extreme ease like a traditional pump, in fact its structure has been designed to facilitate and speed up maintenance operations. The installation must be carried out by expert technical personnel and before starting, consult the Meta instruction manual which contains the necessary information regarding the installation methods as well as further specifications relating to the technical, operating and programming characteristics.
