The Safety Group is a device used in plumbing systems and performs the important function of protecting water heaters or storage water heaters. It prevents the liquid pressure from reaching dangerous limits, prevents the return of hot water into the cold water supply network, isolates the supply network and facilitates storage tank maintenance.
The CALEFFI 5261 series safety unit (model 526152) has a brass body and stainless steel valve seat , is equipped with an intercepting cock, safety valve, EA type check valve, hole for checking the efficiency of the check valve, non-return vents, manual drain knob, plug for the eventual replacement of the check valve. The lower part fits into a drain siphon (to be purchased separately) to be connected to the sewer system into which the Safety Group discharges excess water if it measures an overpressure in the water heater.
The water heater connection is ¾” F, the cold water inlet connection is ¾” M, the drain connection is 1” M. The seals are in EPDM and are particularly resistant to heat, the maximum operating temperature is 120°C . The maximum working pressure is 10 BAR, the calibration pressure of the safety valve is 7 BAR.
The current international regulations provide for the OBLIGATION to install a Safety Group in support of all types of water heaters and water heaters; the CALEFFI Safety Group fully complies with the requirements dictated by the European standard EN1487.
The installation is easy, the article has very small dimensions.
