The 3-6 kW Backup Heater (BUH) for Daikin Altherma 3 M heat pumps is an optional component designed to provide support to the heat pump under specific operating conditions. This electrical device is primarily used to ensure reliable heating even when the ambient conditions are particularly unfavourable or when the heat demand exceeds the capabilities of the heat pump.
Adjustable power on two levels, 3 kW or 6 kW; designed to work perfectly with Daikin Altherma 3 M heat pumps, with automatic control via the integrated management system; efficient energy management because it activates only when necessary, avoiding unnecessary energy waste.
Its main functions:
- low temperature support : in very cold climates, the heat pump may not be able to reach the required temperatures by itself. The BUH activates to integrate the necessary thermal power.
- ensure continuous comfort : during periods of peak energy demand (e.g. early mornings or winter evenings), the auxiliary heater helps maintain the desired thermal comfort.
- emergency function : if the heat pump is not working properly or requires maintenance, the BUH can temporarily take over to ensure a minimum of heating.
- domestic hot water heating (DHW) : can be used to ensure that domestic hot water reaches the desired temperature even under difficult conditions.
