Energy class: The energy class goes from A +++ to D. Class A +++ air conditioners are the most efficient and guarantee better energy savings. The energy label, which indicates the energy efficiency class, is always present on the product and offers further useful information for the purchase. Air conditioners with lower energy class have a lower price but higher consumption.

BTU: this is the measure with which the power of an air conditioner is calculated, to choose which power is suitable it is necessary to consider a series of factors: the size of the room, the exposure, the height of the ceilings, etc. Indicatively we can say that 9000 BTU can be good for a room of 15/25 sq.m. and 12000 BTU can cool a room of 25/40 sq.m.

Inverter air conditioner: this technology allows the air conditioner to automatically adjust the power once the desired temperature is reached to keep it stable, thus resulting in significant energy savings. The fixed air conditioners you find in our shop all have Inverter technology.

On / Off air conditioner: with this cheaper technology, but which involves higher consumption, the air conditioner always works at maximum power and turns off or on when the temperature rises or falls from the desired one.

 

Heat Pump: the heat pump technology applied to air conditioners (air-air functioning) allows to extract heat from the air; in the summer cooling function the heat is subtracted from the internal environment and poured out while in the winter heating function the reverse cycle takes place.

 

Dehumidification: all air conditioners have the ability to remove humidity from the environment where they are installed; this function occurs automatically during summer cooling operation or can be activated through an independent function of the air conditioning. Often, the only use of the Dehumidification function helps to combat the summer heat by giving well-being simply by reducing the degree of humidity in the air.
 

Environmental impact and refrigerant gas: all air conditioners have inside them a refrigerant gas (in liquid state) which is used to cool or heat the air. The rare leaks of this gas have an impact, albeit to a very limited extent, on global warming. For this reason it is advisable to use air conditioners with low impact refrigerants such as Gas R32 or R410A.


We can also give you some useful advice for the use and maintenance of your air conditioner:

- it is recommended to set the air conditioner temperature with a difference of about 6 ° C from the external temperature;
- on days that are not too hot, for a feeling of well-being, just set the air conditioner on the "dehumidification" function;
- adjust the air conditioner thermostat to avoid excessive differences between the internal and external temperatures.

These little tips will also help you keep energy consumption under control. As for the maintenance of the air conditioner, a useful suggestion is to wash the filters and replace them if they have deteriorated.
